IACS 1st Annual Relay Event
Along With Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the new Track and Field
Saturday, October 20, 2012, 12:30-3:00 PM
Please join us for the exciting official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for our new track and soccer field & our First Annual IACS Relay Fundraising Event! There will be food, prizes and entertainment… along with fun for the whole family! This is the school’s Expansion Initiative major fundraising event for the year, and our goal is to have 30 teams raise $1,000 to reach our overall goal of $30,000! All monies solicited for this event are tax-deductible and will directly benefit our student body. The Expansion Initiative has just debuted new middle school science classrooms and is near completion of our new track and soccer field—right on schedule!
So how does it work? Parents, students and and other members of the broader IACS community form teams of 8-10 members to obtain donations from family, local businesses and friends for their team. Each team will alternate members to walk/run within a two-hour period at the event. Our goal is to have each team member raise $100, or $1000 per team. Teams are encouraged to come up with a creative team name and fundraising ideas (can and bottle drive, yard sale, etc..) to add to their team’s fundraising total. Teams can be formed from school clubs, teams, homebases, groups of friends, representing a nearby community, an academic theme, etc.
We are also looking for parent chaperones to be responsible for recruiting a team of 8-10 students, help the team select a name, make a team sign and collect the pledges from each team member. To become a Parent Chaperone, join a team or for more information on the relay event, please contact the Relay Committee Co-Chair Carol Passarelli at [email protected] or 978-663-3745.
