A note from Walter Landberg...
Dear IACS Community,
Congratulations to the Expansion Initiative's First Annual Spring Innovation 5K and Fun Run held last week. Over 100 runners joined us for our inaugural road race, which began and ended on campus and stretched through parts of Tyngsboro and Chelmsford. Due to track construction and the finishing touches on the surfacing, our Fun Run took an alternate course winding through the beautiful campus grounds, passing our pond and concluding on one of our three wooded running trails. Some 50 Fun Run participants joined the fun in strollers, as well as those walking and running to complete the course amidst a cheering crowd and an afternoon filled with music, games and activities by DJ Jim.
We were thrilled to host students, staff and parents from our community, as well as welcoming many runners from surrounding communities. The inauguration of the 5K road race and Fun Run launches the fourth and final fundraising activity of the annual Expansion Initiative campaign which also includes the fall Relay Event, the Hawk Walk brick campaign and the annual Leadership Donor Program.
Special thanks to Carol Passerelli, Paula Girouard and Billy and Heather Rozen for their expertise and enthusiasm as they led an incredible team of volunteers to plan and execute this new annual fundraising event for our school. A special thanks to Yankee Timing for their generous donation of the timing services and equipment. Many thanks also to our incredible IACS Dance Team, under the direction and choreography of Mariclare Policelli who amazed us with their dance routines, and Emma McGaun who began our event with a powerful and heartwarming acapella rendition of our Star Spangled Banner!
Now we need that gym...and it's time to form a team or join a team for our fall Relay Event! Need more information or have questions? Check us out at IACS Expansion Initiative Website or contact Carol Passerelli directly at [email protected]!
Sincerely,
Walter
